2.Night Night Night: Traditional: Dominica/Creole
The island of Dominica is a small island in the Lesser Antilles. Sarah-Jane Lewis who is from Saint Lucia sings in Creole; a mix of French, English with African and Portuguese Influences. The Island was both French British Colonies. The original name of the island was Wai‘tu kubuli, but Christopher Columbus called it Dominica after the day that he came across it. He did not “discover “ the island since the island existed already. It has a one of the largest Carib Populations in the Caribbean. Naila, this is dedicated to all your ancestors on your father’s side that came from this beautiful island.
